Analytics & BI

Follow the data work, not just the job title.

For students using SQL, Python, statistics or business reasoning to turn data into decisions. Relevant work can sit in analytics, operations, product, finance or consulting.

Is this a useful direction for you?

Undergraduates and master's students exploring analyst, business intelligence, data science and data engineering routes. A shared skill does not make every role equally suitable.

  • SQL and data preparation
  • Python or R, where required
  • Metrics, statistics and interpretation
  • A clear business recommendation

These are preparation themes, not universal hiring requirements. Use the official posting to confirm the skills, degree and experience required for each role.

Before you apply

Three decisions to make first.

01

Check the actual work

Read the responsibilities and requirements. Business Analyst may mean quantitative analysis, systems implementation or a less technical business role.

02

Separate internship and full-time routes

Internships may require enrollment or a return to school. Full-time programs often specify a graduation window and start date.

03

Match the depth

A data science title may require advanced research or a PhD. Check the listed degree and experience, not your confidence with Python alone.

From the research records

See what the evidence actually says.

These examples come from our existing records and include affirmative or conditional evidence. They are not a personalized recommendation or a live vacancy feed. Program-level support does not confirm every team or function. Availability and sponsorship are separate checks.

Prepare for the actual work.

  • Show a reproducible analysis with documented data quality checks.
  • Explain the metric, your approach and the decision your findings support.
  • Use the employer's requirements to choose SQL, statistics or modeling practice.

Closed records can help you prepare for a future cycle. They are not open application opportunities. Historical H-1B records alone do not establish support for a vacancy; E-Verify is also a separate check.
